Dr Shetty is a Clinical Professor of Radiology at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief Physician of the Woman's Place for Breast Care and MRI at the Woman's Hospital of Texas. He has previously served as the Director of Mammography at Ben-Taub General Hospital from 1997 to 1999. His area of clinical expertise is Breast cancer Imaging, Gynecological Imaging, MRI and High risk Obstetric Sonography. Dr Shetty was recently appointed an examiner in Mammography by the American Board of Radiology. In recognition of his contributions in Breast Imaging, he was elected a Fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging in 2007. In 2010 the American College of Radiology conferred the degree of Fellow in recognition of Dr Shetty's service to Radiology. He also serves on the Advisory board of the Women's Imaging Online, of the American Roentgen Ray Society.

Dr Shetty has published several clinical research articles on Mammography and Women's Imaging. As a Guest Editor of the Seminars in US, CT & MRI he has compiled an issue related to Radiation Safety issues with use of Computed Tomography in Medicine [Feb 2010] . He is currently a guest editor of an issue of the Seminars titled: Breast Cancer Imaging: State of the Art to be published in 2011.

Dr Shetty is presently the Clinic Director of a Well Woman Charity Clinic in Houston. In the past Dr Shetty has served as the president of the Houston Radiological Society and the SE Texas chapter of the American Association of Physicians of Indian origin.

Dr Shetty is an International Volunteer Visiting Professor of the RSNA and American College of Radiology and has lectured and conducted workshops on Breast cancer screening, Gynecological Imaging and High risk OB ultrasound in Africa, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He has been an invited speaker at National and International conferences.
